Matt/gloss effects refer to eye-catching finishing possibilities. Glossy areas are in the focus; matt areas provide the requested contrast. But matt/gloss effects can be realized in different ways, for example on a printing press with double coating unit or – as used here – in two processes as a spot coating with UV-based matt varnishes over a UV gloss varnish.
First process: Having printed with UV inks, the TerraGloss UV Gloss Varnish G 8/603 VK is applied inline and full area out of the coating unit.
Anilox roller: 17 cm³/m², tri-helical, 45°, 80 l/cm
Second process: Offline and spot, the TerraGloss UV Matt Varnish G 8/605 NVK is used (biker left out). The result: a high-gloss biker as the center of attention in a matt-coated rocky landscape.
Anilox roller: 10 cm³/m², hexagonal, 100 l/cm
