Rice production represents one of the most important sources of income in Vietnam. However, both rice cultivation and harvest are heaviest handwork. First, the rice is sowed into a relatively dry planting bed where it can shoot. Later, the seedlings are taken to the true rice field. For this process, many people are needed; often rice plantations are alike complete rural communities. Now, there is no further care necessary despite watering the land. Four months later, the fields can be drained in order to harvest the rice.
